Sustainability
With guidance from the Board, the REIT Manager will strive to employ best practices for a broad range of ESG commitments to achieve high sustainability standards in UI Boustead REIT’s operations and management.
These are some of the key sustainability principles that the REIT Manager intends to follow:The REIT Manager will focus on long-term sustainable value creation through enhancing the existing portfolio and investing in properties that address ESG and climate risks through adaptation and mitigation. This includes understanding how the REIT’s operations materially impact key stakeholders and the communities where the REIT invests and operates, so as to provide a positive ESG impact and limit any ESG risks.
The REIT Manager will implement well-defined policies and processes to protect key stakeholders’ interests and continually review and refine such policies and processes in light of best practices, while maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption.
The REIT Manager will incorporate environmental, health, safety and well-being practices as central pillars throughout the organisation and properties, in support of key stakeholders. The REIT Manager also intends to report material ESG commitments and priorities that can be monitored by stakeholders.
The Board will set the tone for sustainability efforts and identify, manage and address ESG factors that are material to the REIT’s operations and management. An annual sustainability report will be prepared in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and in line with the requirements of the SGX-ST, which will cover the sustainability performance of the REIT and REIT Manager.
