Privacy & Data Protection Policy
Commitment to Your Privacy
UIB REIT Management Pte Ltd (the “Manager”) understands that your privacy is important and will ensure that as far as possible, any personal data that is collected through this Website is used only for the purposes set out in this Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
This explains the Manager’s handling of personal data that may be collected on this Website and in the course of business.
Personal Data Protection Act
The Personal Data Protection Act 2012, as amended from time to time (together “PDPA”) provides a baseline standard of protection for personal data in Singapore. It complements sector-specific legislative and regulatory frameworks such as the Banking Act and Insurance Act. It comprises various requirements governing the collection, use, disclosure and care of personal data in Singapore. It also provides for the establishment of a national Do Not Call (“DNC”) Registry. Individuals may register their Singapore telephone numbers with the DNC Registry to opt out of receiving unwanted telemarketing messages from organisations.
The PDPA recognises both the need to protect individuals’ personal data and the need of organisations to collect, use or disclose personal data for legitimate and reasonable purposes. A data protection regime is necessary to safeguard personal data from misuse and to maintain individuals’ trust in organisations that manage their data. By regulating the flow of personal data among organisations, the PDPA also aims to strengthen Singapore’s position as a trusted hub for businesses.
For more information about PDPA, please visit the Personal Data Protection Commission (“PDPC”)’s website at www.pdpc.gov.sg.
Specifications of Use and Personal Data Protection Statement
Whenever the Manager requests for personal data, the purpose for which the information will be used is specified in advance and the use is restricted to that purpose. If the Manager should ever desire to use your personal data for purposes other than that specified, it will inform you of the additional purposes. All individuals have the right to withhold consent to the use of personal data for additional purposes. In addition, the Manager respects DNC registrations and obtains explicit consent for telemarketing, where applicable.
You may withhold consent if you do not wish to provide the Manager with personal data, though doing so may prevent access to certain services that the Manager provides.
